Chairman’s Letter

The rapid adoption of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server continues. Everywhere, it seems, organizations just like yours are either discovering Microsoft’s popular collaboration software, or are struggling to understand how to get more out of their SharePoint implementations.

We’ve seen the struggle, we’ve felt the pain – and that’s why we launched SPTechCon: The SharePoint Technology Conference, in January in the San Francisco Bay Area. SPTechCon was such an overwhelming success, and fills such an important need, that we’re bringing the conference east, to Cambridge, Mass., June 22-24.

By attending SPTechCon, you’ll learn the in’s and out’s, and tips and tricks, to maximize what you can do with SharePoint right now. In fact, that’s the focus of this conference: “Putting SharePoint To Work For You Today!”

For three days, we’ll offer the best of the classes and workshops that made the California event such a smash, and we’re adding a host of new speakers and topics to keep things fresh. If you were with us at the first SPTechCon, there will be plenty of new information to feed your head. And if you’re joining us for the first time, you’ll see that we’ve put together a program for information workers, IT administrators, business executives, architects and developers, with classes ranging from introductory level to expert. All told, there are more than 70 technical classes and workshops from which to choose.

Each presenter at the conference is a true SharePoint expert, with many drawn from Microsoft’s technical teams or from outside authorities with MVP status. We’re bringing back your favorites, such as Todd Klindt and Shane Young, who will reprieve “by popular demand” their workshop on administering SharePoint; Bob Mixon, who will offer an in-depth look at taxonomies as well as his packed full-day workshop on “findability”; and Dux Raymond Sy, who brings his expertise from the project management perspective with a handful of very well-received sessions.

We’re also adding more MVPs, such as Scot Hillier, Michael Noel and Robert Bogue, to bring their technical experience and insights to you. Further, we have a number of experts “from the field” such as Tiffany Songvilay, Errin O’Connor and Paul Swider – folks who have gotten their hands dirty under the SharePoint hood, and bring real-world experiences to share.

Day One of the conference will consist of full-day and half-day workshops. The next two days will feature technical classes and a keynote address, as well as social close encounters (of the face-to-face kind) where you can speak with our experts in a more casual setting, and to exchange new information with your peers.

Among the highlights of the conference will be a new experience we’re calling “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know,” at which you can hear a number of short, targeted talks from multiple speakers. From a networking standpoint, you can enjoy a cocktail reception on the exhibit hall floor, a good old-fashioned ice cream social, and various other coffee breaks at which to eat, drink and mingle.

Look over the course listings and put together a program that’s right for you. If you sign up now, you’ll be eligible for one of our special discounts!

SPTechCon: The SharePoint Technology Conference delivers the technical depth and expert training that shows your organization that you’re serious about SharePoint – and about putting it to work for you today!

I look forward to seeing you in June!

Sincerely,
David Rubinstein
