2 Prepare. Search throught the class listing on the website and identify the classes you want to take, and explain why the topics relate to your SharePoint technical efforts. You'll always find something that fits your specific needs.
3 Justify. Go in armed with all the necessary materials to make a good case for how your attending SPTechCon will help your company make money, save money or improve productivity.
4 Share. Promise to come back from SPTechCon and hold a brown-bag lunch session to share what you've learned with your colleagues - or even conduct formal training within your department.
5 Plan. Tell management that after you attend SPTechCon, you'll make specific action plans and recommendations to improve how your company uses and leverage SharePoint.
6 Relate. Show how specific problems or issues you've recently encountered fit with the many classes at SPTechCon, and discuss the types of discussions you'll have with the conference faculty.
7 Save. The tuition and travel expense of attending SPTechCon is less than many other conferences. The earlier you sign up, the more you save, so explain the benefit of signing up early, and for booking your hotel room before the cutoff.
