In my Making SharePoint Strategic session at SPTechCon yesterday, I asked the audience for topic suggestions for this week’s article. To no one’s surprise, the responses were geared toward operational-level questions specifically targeted on the usage of SharePoint by various business units.
One gentleman asked how IT can make SharePoint more consumable across his business, while another asked about how SharePoint can be used from an operational level. During my talk, I addressed these issues fundamentally, but there are some higher-level issues that I will focus on in this piece. Think of them as the foundational elements that any project must have, similar to a foundation for a house—a substantial component that the system will rest on for its life within the organization.
