Defining the SharePoint ‘community’

Every few years, folks who work with SharePoint wrangle with the issue of community. The most recent go-round was likely sparked by a Facebook post from Microsoft’s Dan Holme, who also happened to start a SharePoint community website called IT Unity prior to joining Microsoft. Je said that a higher-up at Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to build a community around SharePoint. Meanwhile, Mark Miller, who created and curated and, chimed in with a great comment, to the effect of “What a great idea! I’ll get right on that 10 years ago!”

SharePoint at the Core of Reinventing Productivity

Mark Kashman, Senior Product Manager at Microsoft, talks about SharePoints renewed focus on productivity in his Keynote at SPTechCon Boston 2015. The new Microsoft is listening carefully to their audiences need and demands and is implementing them in the latest iterations of SharePoint and Office 365.
